Yesterday, we decided to cook chicken and we went out for shopping the necessary items(including chicken). We went to the shop: (the whole conversation was in bit Tamil n Hindi)
Me: chicken 250 gms.
Shop Owner: sir, chicken 250 gms...not possible sir...only 1.5 kg and above. but i can give kari for 250 gms...
Me: no, we want only chicken...not kari...(turning towards shanm) what shall we do now ?
Shanm: we are only two and definitely cant take 1.5 kgs and all, i'll try to call my friends, if they are coming, we can take it.
(He called atleast 5 people and no one was interested.....!!!)
Me: ok fine, we'll search for some other shop where we can get 250 gms.
(We walked for about 40 mins in that road asking everyone abt chicken shop and we couldn't find any....with full depression i told shanm.)
Me: shanm, we cook kari today and nxt week, we go to "total mall" and get frozen chicken there.
Shanm: ok, i'll call my mom and ask how to cook kari.
(Shanm called his mom and she was explaining him how to cook kari.)
Shanm: srini, kari is easy to cook it seems....
Me: ok fine...we'll get 250 gms kari.
(went to the same shop after 45 mins...)
Me: 250 gms kari...
(Shop owner asked the guy to give me 250 gms kari...he took a chicken and made it into pieces to make it 250 gms !!!!!)
Me: this is kari....?????
shipowner: yes sir, that is chicken and this is chicken kari !!!! chicken wont come for 250 gms sir..only kari comes for 250 gms !!!!
Shanm was rolling on floor and i was cursing my hindi....smuck...he could have told us that it's chicken kari...in madurai chicken means chicken and kari means mutton !!!!!!!!
PS: we cooked it so well that we finished it in the noon itself.
PPS: Nxt time, we wont go for chicken !!!!!!!
PPPS: even if we go, we wont go to the same shop....enna villathanam !!!!!!!!
