My First short film !!!!

Last week received a call from subbuni, asked to act in his short film. I was thrilled, i always wanted to do something of this sort. we had done lots of culturals in College and also @ inter-college culturals, but then this was different. He sent the script 24 hrs prior the shooting and told that i play the role of SAI. i checked in the script and i cant find my name et all.....(just 2 page script) got ferry and then did a ctrl+f on that pdf doc and found my character.......OH MY GOD !!!!

It was a dumb person role...i knew that something of this sort will happen , coz from college these morons used to cast me in role which gets more symphathised with the audience. I never had a chance to speak in stage and i beleived that atleast this time i'll get a chance but alas....all in vein. FORGOT....people are not that lucky to hear my voice (vidra vidra, apidiye maintain pannu sooona paaana !!!!)

On 31-May-2008, we set out our journey for shooting, the cast includes me, shanm, subbuni, athivaasi, oscar nayagan jalpathi and Roman(from german). We parked the car in a no man land and still we got attention from a security guard. he never leaved the place for next 3-4 hrs. namma makkal camera va paatha pothum, udaney kootam potruvaainga !!!!! The script is so simple, a guy travelling in a car asks for "BDA complex" and then he will be guided in hindi and telugu. they dont know both so they ask the person to explain it in tamil, english or kannada...the guy who shows way got frustu and leaves the place. then they ask a person crossing the road, who's a dumb(athaan naan), i will tell them that i cant talk but then i'll show them the directions with gestures....avlothaaan.

First athivaasi(also called as hari) took the steering and tried some stunts like, how to start the car, how to change the gear, how to release hand brake etc...when asked he said he was driving car with shumacher in germany. (adi koyyala !!!!). we completed the first shot in 4 angles, subbuni can be a core competitor for PC Sriram. (i meant the size), he took the same shot in 4 different angles and everybody gave four different performances !!!!(ippave kannai kattudhe). Then atlast we completed first part and went to next street to take the continuation shot. as we have some pro-actors like me in that shot, we completed it in 30 mins(hi hi hi hi hi hi). Then the last part, that's after i leave the place there'll be couple of eye-opening messages, we shot that in another 20 mins and winded up. Now i'll explain the characters:

Subbuni: clearly the director, he think like a director, concentrates on minute details and continuity. he's brilliant guy but is more satisfied with onsite trips and short vacations , so he wont get into big screen. he posses all characters of a director, he gets frutrated when the shot is not OK, he takes care of lighting etc...good work subbuni

Athivaasi: Hari, clearly a nice guy pretending to be a jerk and he always fails in his attempts. he came in some yo-yo costume but the sad part is that the angle of the camera just covered his shoulder n above. he's little disappointed with this, he tried his best to come whole in frame which subbuni carefully avoided. Also he's men of wise words(that means nobody can understand), he was explaing the theory of human nature to react in front of the camera et all....but as usual nobody was listening. i beleived that he'll ran over a guy with car and his unique driving abilities, lucily it didnt happen.

Oscar nayagan jalpathi: Aiyoo saami, mudiyala....he was prompting his dialogue and he was practicing overnight, but he raised all our BP in the name of acting. he took 45 mins to deliver a simple dialogue "Kya kannada, english...poora basha baath karne ke liye mein guide hain kya??? chalo !!!" thats it, idukku engala saavadichuttaan...it was really un-bearable.

Shanm: the king of sarcasm...behaved as usual. after the shot he asked for touch-up...ada paavigala !!!!! he's also a good actor having some presence of mind and skills.

Roman: clearly no idea what was goin on , he was blank but he gave his best part @ the climax. it was the finishing touch for the story.
