Poonamalle !!!!!!!

Yesterday, i went chennai with my dad to meet a doctor(yeah, u guessed that rt...he's a dermatologist). The clinic was in poonamalle road. So we got down at guindy junction and we took a bus to poonamalle. It was some 20+ Kms away from guindy junction. When we reached the busstand, i got this sick feel because the place was nothing less than a slum !!!!!

I immediately dropped the idea of taking medication from that doctor, but my dad insisted and we went and asked for the address.

Me: This is poonamalle road.
Autodriver: Yes
Me: well, u know where's Breeze hotel ?
Autodriver: Yes, it's in poonamalle road.
Me: (bit confused) yeah, so where exactly in this road... (showing the direction) this way or that way.
Autodriver: (he pointed the direction where we came from and told) That way...u have to go another 25 kms !!!!!!!
Me: (shocked !!!!) what ???? this is poonamalle road rt ? then how come !!!! (i was literally blabbering)
Autodriver: yes, but u see, this poonamalle road starts from central station and ends here...nearly 35 kms..........

My dad was in splits as i was the one who acted like i-know-all-roads-in-chennai.....Then we took a bus and travelled another 45 mins to reach the location !!!!!!!

I still donno why the hell they kept that whole road as poonamalle road..........!!!!!!!!!

After that , we got sometime to roam , so i went and asked an autodriver:

Me: can u take us to spencers?
Autodriver: ok, 70 bucks....
Me: what ????? too high....it's in anna saalai rt..it's a short distance....
Autodriver: sir, u know where anna saalai starts from...............?

The next moment, i dropped the roaming plan and went back to hotel.....

Opis Komedies - Part 36: Why ? Why ? I donno why? It always happens to my!!!!!!

Two days back, there was a meeting in my company. The meeting was in VC (video conferencing) and so all around the globe it was connected. We have state of the art technology conference room.

The meeting was about some quarterly updates and i was dragged to the meeting as it's not having enough strength. I tried my level best to listen what they are trying to convey and seriously it didnt made any sense to me.

After 15 mins the monkey in me started peeping out, there was a mike in front of me with a switch. It's provided to ask questions if you have any. It was so tempting and i pressed it. It switched on, i was delighted and i was doing mike testing in it by tapping the mike. It was making some minute tap sound, with full delight i then switched it off. Then i looked up and to my shock the camera was focused on me and i'm visible thourgh out the world !!!!!!!!

OH NOOOOOOOOOo, it was too embarrassing and i can see people started laughing after seeing my reaction, then i donno what to do, so i was trying to avoid the camera by moving side, to my dismay there's no way i can move anywhere, i tried for ten mins and atlast i got up from the seat and sat on floor...the whole hall burst out of laughing !!!!!!!!!!

My Unit Head "You should never turn this guy mad !!!!!"...for the next 1 hr of meeting i was sitting on the floor !!!!!!!!!!

PS: i didnt knew that mike was connected with the camera !!!!
PPS: u want to know how the camera went off then, well, it was my PM who pressed the button accidentally and it started focusing him....
PPPS: Me, great escape !!!!!!!!!!

Naan Kadavul: Review 2

Arya played the lead role in this movie. It takes sometime to understand what type of people they really are. Well, he's grown up with Aghori sadhus and transformed into an Aghori. Aghori's are worshippers of third face of Siva. The three faces of siva are Vamadeva, Isaana siva and Aghora Rudhra. So Aghoris believe the third face, aghora rudhra of lord siva.

Arya lived in that role, that would be the right statement. The aasanas, the dialogues and the power in his eyes are too good. He fits this role in tailor made and he leaves an impression that no one else can do this character. Dialogues for him are little but then acting skills are never measured based on the pages of dialogues but the body language that should make justification to the role. In that way, Aarya excelled in the role of Aghori sadhu.

Technically speaking, there's lots of minute details added to his character. Be it the perfect "shiraasana" pose or the way he role gaanja or the dialogues he delivers or his pronunciation are all perfect. He speaks like a guy who has spoken very less tamil in his life with traces of hindi slang. Also, Arya's voice was like someone affected with throat cancer, why so ? because, the prolonged consumption of gaanga removes the real voice of yours and there'll be a big opening in the throat, so whenever the person speaks there'll be more air coming out of throat giving that "hissss" sound.

The way he carries the nair reminded me of an animal taking its prey to eat. Everytime he says "Aham Brahmasmi", we can feel that vibration in our heart. Also that killer looks, it penetrates through anyone. The sidha song he tells to his mom to get him released from her was toooooo powerfull and hard to digest. All his 3 yrs of hard work has been paid in triple !!!! good work aarya !!!!!!!

Naan Kadavul: Review 1

Concept 1:
"இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழ தகுதி இல்லாதவர்களுக்கு நான் தரும் வரம் - மரணம், இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழ வழி இல்லாதவர்களுக்கு நான் தரும் மரணம் - வரம் !!!!" translation "those who are not fit to live in this world, i give them boon - that's death and those who cant live in this world , i give them death - thats a boon". If you cant understand\digest\interpret these words then Bala's "Naan Kadavul" is definitely not for you.

Concept 2:
I met lots of people in my travel and beggars are most prominent among them. They are people with guttered physique, pathetic voice, handicapped, dumb and also few who acts like all the above and i simply ignore them. I never ever gave a single penny to any of these guys. For me, they are low life peoples, people who dont want to work and wants everything for free, just by raising the voice "amma, thaaye, pitchai podunga", i hate that very sound.I saw many physically challenged peoples who works or does something to lead a decent life, i have all respect for them and never fail to acknowledge their mental power and survival instinct in this world, but on the contrary, i hate those "physically challenged beggars" who makes awful expressions and asks for money, i never had any respect for them...until, yesterday when i came out watching "Naan Kadavul".

I sincerely wish that there's no such situation prevailing around the beggars(as shown in the movie) but at the same time if it's there, even less than 1%, anywhere in this world...thats really paining. I was filled with unavoidable thoughts about all those people whom i ignored in the bus stand, railway station, outside my company, college, signals...i felt guilty. Why i have not given anything to them ? how can i assume that they beg and earn a life out of it ? how did i ever ignored the physically challenged beggars ? did they got affected because of my ignorance ? what if someone on some particular day, to whom i have not given anything resulted in some extra beating from his boss ? i felt the pain...i cried for some hours. I whole heartily said "I am sorry, next time i'll show humanity when i meet any of you on the way, i try to give something, i believe that u beg because someone is forcing you to do that, i believe u didnt become beggar by choice...." Disturbing thoughts for the whole night.....

Movie review:

Bala did a brilliant work in blending both the concepts. It's not a film, which you can categorize as good or bad, it's just an unavoidable movie and in my opinion "This is the identity of Cinema". It's a very intense movie narrated in a dark way with dry sarcastic comedies through out. For the ages to come, people will speak about this movie...

I am closing my review here....but this is not the end, will write few more reviews about this movie once that uneasy feeling settles down !!!!!!!!!

Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum....simply superb

Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, the title is taken from old chandrababu's song. When they announced this i was not surprised that Yuvan was roped in for this project as he's a versatile musician and he has proved that beyond any doubts in this rocking album.

5 songs with one repeat and all 5 are excellent in their own ways...he served a full meals with supreme taste. Like some unique movies which raises the movie watching experience to next level, this album definitely takes tamil audience indulged in tamilized-english songs will take them one level up.One more creative album from Music Prince.

Chinnan sirusu: A melody from Prince and the starting beats sets u into the mood. Javed Ali of "Jash-e-bahara" fame and Bela Shinde of "in lamhon ki" fame (both from Jodha Akbar) rendered voice for this song. Wow, the instruments and sounds will give us a vivid visualisation of a place surrounded by trees and only the lovers in the frame. In whole, will linger in ur years for long time.....sweet song

Kadaloram: Again a melody with prince himself giving voice.(there's a separate SPB saran version also). This again tells the pain of love and clearly stands unique in the lot.The beats are simple so that we can really feel the lyrics .In this song, only the tune is innovating and gives a good feel, rest he follows the same steps of any conventional song.

Muttathu pakathula: Remix version of "Nandavanathil oru rajakumari" from "Karakaatakaaran". I love the original version which comes for less than 30 sec in the movie. Somewhat i forgot this song and after some 10 yrs, i heard it now and wow.......what a song !!! Voice by Venkat Prabhu, as playfull as gangai amaran, this is a typical kuthu song with excellent music. I was really amazed with the small metallic guitar piercing in the second half of the song. This song is definitely gonna be a chart buster. It takes front benchers to dance and back benchers to tap their foot in the theatre !!!!!!!

Na Dharmenda: SPB, back with a song like "singari sarakku namma sarakku". Such a gifted voice he got, its still fresh n new and only he can add pep to any song with little gestures in voice. simply speaking, hear it for SPB once. Then, the rock music in the middle...can someone imagine a rock guitar piece in btw these type of songs...sheer imagination...excellent application. one more fast paced song which keeps u live till end.

Oru nimisham: Innovation...creativity at its best...thats all i can say abt this song. It's an oppari style song(sung during deaths) with the original voice of Velmurugan with excellent thappu music at the background. The music raises and lowers and without ur knowledge u'll be dancing for this song. The pain in the song is penned beautifully and u'll get a mixed emotion of dancing with lingering thoughts of lost love. Once again an excellent creative work from Yuvan.

Overall, i rate this album above all the recent releases in Tamil. After hearing the songs, i felt like hugging Yuvan and giving some pat !!!! Thanks Yuvan for this absolutely mind blowing album...I will definitely watch this movie once for the songs. All the best to the team.

HE, SHE, SHE's Friends and Slumdog Millionaire

HE is not so charming guy, but everybody calls him a good guy. HE is extremely shy with girls and slowly trying to get over it. So HE finally decided to take out a SHE to a movie. HE asked SHE at the time of GHAJINI release. SHE denied....Then one day HE was talking about Slumdog Millionaire and SHE was excited to see the movie. SHE asked him whether HE can book tickets for her and roomie...HE said yes.

It took SHE 2 days to finalize showtime and date. So finally friday, SHE asked HE to book 3 tickets. So HE went on booking and asked SHE's credit card number. SHE dont have one...now HE has to use his card to book ticket as well as collect ticket. So HE proposed that plan to SHE, that HE will book 4 tickets, 3 in a row and 1 seperate. SHE thought for a min and said, book 4 continuous. HE delighted:)

Then HE opened the site and started booking and then........GOSH....issue with the system and credit card booking not accepted. HE was bewildered, then HE asked his friend and roomies card, but to add more pain it also failed. Desperately HE called Credit card company and got to know that he can do online transaction only after couple of hours !!!!!

So HE decided to goto theatre directly and book it. So HE and HE's friend(who's newly married and going to his house) accompanied him for a while in this eternal travel. HE then rushed to counter and found that HE's 3rd or 4th guy to book the ticket.wow...HE got it. HE spent 2 days on his speech and to show off his technical\analysis\logical skills while watching the movie. HE prepared so hard that even Obama should take tips from him!!!!

On the D Day he got up early, brushed twice, bathed twice, perfumed twice and in a friends bike he reached theatre even before the operator came. Forgot to say, HE took 30 mins to dress-up only to look like a security guard :( !!!!Then he waited...waited....and waited....clocks ticking in 1/12th per second !!!!finally he received a call from SHE: "Hey, will be there in 15 mins..." So HE started waiting again. After 15 mins SHE called again to say "Hey, it will take another 15 mins, so can you wait or else u can leave the ticket at the counter and we will collect it"...HE said "thats ok , i'll wait"

Now, HE is a sort of movie freak who loves to watch the movie from newsreel, if not HE will fight with his friends for coming late. This is how HE is, for the past 18 years of movie watching!!!!!! So HE broke that vow today....Had it been other day, HE would have ignored his friends and got into the theatre, but today, he decided to wait....finally SHE came with her friends.

A very formal "Hi", thats it. HE already decided not to talk to SHE's friends and will give full attention only to SHE. well, HE was nearly 15 mins late for the movie and HE took the seat. For his great shock...They sat like this. SHE's friend, SHE, SHE's friend and HE !!!!!! so the whole purpose was out of question and all his expert opinions speech was went in air !!!! The movie started and there was one gross scene...SHE's friend was so scared...hmmmm...had it been SHE, HE would have reacted but then it was just SHE's friend and HE wanted to maintain his cool image....so HE sat like dumb throughout the first half.

Interval, one more chance. HE was enquiring about the movie to SHE, HE was trying to show off his observing ability and asked SHE "i m still wondering how come that blind guy able to identify Benjamin Franklin"...SHE said "who cares, u cant see that much logic in a movie"...clearly stumped...to make-up HE blabbered "you are right, but then as its nominated for Oscars, these small things they have to take care...." SHE gave a dry smile...meaning SHUT UP.

HE bought pepsi for which SHE wanted to pay but HE managed to push the bill. HE expected to sit next to SHE atleast this time as her friends were not around.HE cleverly took two straws so that he can offer one to SHE...but as luck goes well for HE, HE end up sitting in the same position. Second half went in the same fashion and HE almost ended up like watching the movie alone...After the movie HE offered her lift till MG road which was rudely denied by SHE. well, HE was fed-up and called his friend "Machaanz, nothing went well"...HE's friend "did u asked for lunch.." HE:"that was a cool idea, will call now "...the call was never picked. HE kicked, his bike and came home and SHE went...who cares...let SHE go anywhere SHE wants to........HE came home and desperately writing this blog.................
